Description:

CSF is the California Scholarship Federation. The club allows students who have achieved academic success to showcase their community service for college applications. Meetings, held monthly as facilities allow, are mandatory. These meetings occur at lunch in the porthole theater. Once accepted into the club, students are required to complete service hours and attend recycling events. CSF is an exciting place to meet people who are both academically driven and invested in community service.
 

Requirements:

The requirements to be admitted to CSF are dependent on both previous semester’s grades and classes. The specifics on which can be found in the application and lists attached. In order to maintain status as a member, each individual must complete 2 recycling hours, 2 school service hours, and 4 community service hours.
 
  • Recycling hours are completed by attending recycling events during lunch, after school, or on Saturdays. The sign-ups for these hours are located outside of room 606 when available. (On every other Saturday during COVID) Please check the Canvas page for all COVID updates.
    • At least one lunchtime hour must be completed as well (except during COVID)
    • A limit of two hours can be completed during lunch; the rest must be completed at other times (except during COVID)
    • Each semester, at most one recycling hour can be obtained by turning in two trash bags of recyclables on a Saturday.
  • School service hours can be obtained by volunteering for school events, helping a teacher, or assisting in the library.
  • Community service hours can be obtained through any volunteer work that is conducted outside of school. 
  • Various opportunities to receive school service and community service hours will be provided throughout the year. Also, this can be located on both the calendar and the website.
 

Donations:

Donations are gladly accepted and are used to pay for the annual chapter fee for CSF and for all Senior Awards that are given. All donations can be turned in to Linda Stover at the activities window.
 

Membership Awards:

There are two different membership awards that can be earned by Seniors in CSF and can be shown off at graduation. The first award is Honors, which requires 4 to 5 semesters of membership in CSF and gives you a cord for graduation . The second award is Highest Honors, which requires 6 semesters of membership in CSF and gives you a stole for graduation. One of these semesters must be in the senior year.
